The wines of our winery performed excellently in this year’s national and international competitions: we won two silver awards at the Decanter Worls Wine Awards, gold, silver and bronze at the Winelovers Wine Awards, a big gold and two gold awards at the Balaton-Highlands Wine Competition, and first place in the dry, premium white wine category at the exclusive BUD Wine Competition of Budapest Airport. We are also very proud that our Mandorla Sauvignon Blanc was voted the best white wine of Lake Balaton this year.
The 2022 Vesprim Infula Rouge was chosen as the red wine of Veszprém County, which also received a gold rating at the Csopak and Surrounding Mountains Wine Competition – as did the ’23 Infula Blanc and the ’23 Mandorla Sauvignon Blanc. Our wines were also highly commended at the 2024 Balaton-Highlands Wine Competition, where the ’23 Mandorla Sauvignon Blanc was awarded a big gold medal, and the ’22 Infula Rouge and the ’22 Mandorla Rajnai Rizling were awarded gold medals.
We also came home with awards from national and international wine competitions. In the 2024 National Wine Competition, 230 wineries entered a total of 897 entries, and three of our wines stood out from the field: the ’22 Mandorla Rajnai Rizling, the ’22 1277 Rajnai Rizling and the ’23 Mandorla Sauvignon Blanc also won gold.
At the VinAgora International Wine Competition, held for the 25th time this year, our premium wine family 1277 Rajnai Rizling ’22 was awarded a silver medal, while our Rieslings also won several awards at the world’s largest wine competition, the Decanter World Wine Award. The competition judged over 18,000 lots from 57 countries, with the 1277 Rajnai Rizling ’22 and the Mandorla Rajnai Rizling ’22 scoring 91 points, winning two silver awards. Our international reputation is further enhanced by the fact that this year our winery took part in the exclusive BUD Wine competition at Budapest Airport, where we won first place in the dry, premium white wine category.
There was also good news this summer, with our wines achieving great results at the Winelovers Wine Awards. The ’23 Vesprim Infula Blanc won gold, the ’23 Vesprim Infula Rosé and the ’23 Mandorla Sauvignon Blanc won silver, while the Mandorla Rajnai Riesling won bronze.
In the spring we started new plantings in Mindszentkálla, including Italian Riesling, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc. We are confident that in time we will be able to produce award-winning wines from these too!
